“Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Li Shan, happy birthday to you!”
November 3rd was a big day for our school. Li Shan is now 8 years old. It was a cloudy and windy day. It looked like there was lack of energy. Nevertheless, our campus looked different from usual that day; the atmosphere was cheerful. As you walked through the gate, a big cake made of bamboo caught your eye. There was a big 8 and LSSH on it, which was very special and obvious. Along the hallway, there were lots of posters and stalls on both sides. Everyone was working on their final preparations, as the ceremony was soon to begin!

At 8:30, the entire student body was in the auditorium for the opening ceremony. After the principal introduced our guests and gave a speech, the main activities began!
The first and the most special one was the Science and Literature Contest, a new idea proposed by our principal. Each subject had different questions for those who participated in the competition. No matter what the results were, I believe that everyone learned a lot. This competition has become a signature event in our anniversary.
After the contest, class fairs were held on the campus. You didn’t have to worry about your lunch; you could get anything you wanted at a reasonable price. The most special game is to shoot narrows (archery).
Many of us had never shot narrows before, so it was fun. Others sold food and drinks instead of science-themed objects.
A celebration without the following performances is not a celebration at all here in LSSH. This year’s performances, held on the basketball court, were worth watching. The best part was seeing those humorous hosts!

The first program asked interesting questions about Taiwan. Being a student in Taiwan, how much do you really know about your country? Those who played this game might recognize more details about Taiwan now.
The next one was the club performance. As the rock bands got on the stage, the atmosphere heated up; everyone was screaming and shouting for the wonderful singing and the entire enthusiastic musical instruments.
What’s next? Our singing competition finally began. This year all the entries were much more competitive than last year! All of them had a great voice, but there’s always defeat and victory in a contest. In the end, the championship was captureed by third-grade students. Let’s cheer for them!
The last but not least was the street dancing, we invited many dancers from other school, and we couldn’t take our eyes away from their spectacular performance.

After all the activities, I believed that everyone had lots of fun. Thanks for all the teachers and students, without them we wouldn’t have had such a great memory. Thank you for your participation! And if you missed it this year, then don’t forget our anniversary next year!
